Co-founder · leads curriculum development & student planning
Cyan Learning Studio is co-founded by Cherry Yan, who leads curriculum development and student planning. With more than 10 years of experience supporting students and families—as a tutor and a student and family support specialist in British Columbia's public middle and high schools—Cherry understands how important it is to make education planning clear and manageable for families finding their footing in a new place.
Over the years, she has helped newcomer families think through course selection, scholarships, and career pathways, and stood alongside them on the decisions that shape a student's future after graduation—always helping families make their own informed choices, never making those choices for them. She works to make sure every family can see the full range of opportunities open to their child, so none goes unnoticed. At Cyan, Cherry develops each student's Personalized Learning Plan, while subject-specialist tutors provide targeted instruction and academic support.
Cyan gives newcomer families the knowledge and a plan for their child's education — helping you settle in, navigate the local school system, and make informed decisions with confidence.
We start with a personalized assessment, build a plan mapped to your child's goals, then update it as new scores and progress come in. You always understand the pathway ahead — what to focus on, and when.
A dynamic plan built around your child. We begin with an assessment of where they are now, set goals for where they're headed, and map the concepts, practice, and milestones to get there. As new assessments and scores come in, the plan updates — so it always reflects your child today, not a snapshot from months ago. It's the clarity many families tell us they wish they'd had: a clear pathway to your child's goals, and what to do next.
Planning early isn't about deciding your child's future sooner — it's about keeping more doors open for them.
The courses a student takes in middle and high school shape which advanced classes they can take later, how they prepare for exams, and the direction of their college applications.
The earlier we understand your child's current level, interests, and goals, the more time there is to strengthen their foundation, plan the next step, and adjust course as they grow.
Every student has different strengths, interests, and goals. So we start with a personalized assessment — then build the plan, practice, and materials around what your child actually needs.
We get to know your child's current level and identify the specific areas where they can grow — so the plan begins from real data about your student, not assumptions.
From that assessment we create targeted learning plans, practice, and worksheets designed around their individual needs — helping them make progress and shine in their own way.
Our academic support is aligned with the curriculum, learning standards, and course expectations used in Frisco ISD and Plano ISD. We reinforce the concepts students are learning at school, help close knowledge gaps, and provide additional practice so they better understand their coursework and feel more prepared.
Grouped by level so each student gets the right work and real attention — never a lecture to a crowd.
